How To Write An Analytical Paper Overnight

Sometimes students get behind on their work. Going to school, working, and studies make it hard to do everything, yet they have to be done. So when a student is under the gun, and has to get an analytical paper done overnight, how is that done? Here are some tips to get it done in a speedy and exact method.

  1. Read and Research
  2. Notes
  3. Outline
  4. Write
  5. Edit

Read and Research

Read what it is you are to analyze, make notes of the major points to be researched. Do not try to cover the whole piece, in research, it cannot be done overnight. When you research the major points, you will find the information will cover more than just those points. It will end up covering the whole piece. When you have time, it is best to research the key points, as those are usually more focused. When you cover major points, they are less focused, and bring in the key points as well as other aspects of the thing you are analyzing. So you can cover more in less time.

Notes

As always, notes are key to doing any writing. Make notes on what you research, just like any essay, two notepads, one for specialized notes, and one for the associated reference information. These will be your lifeline to writing the paper, and help with all facets of the work.

Outline

Always outline your work. Write an outline of what you plan to do, and outline each part of your paper; introduction, body, and conclusion. Make sure to plan your reference use, and where they will go. Have the outline ready so you can use it as your guide to writing the analytical paper.

Write

Using your notes and your outline, write the paper, making sure to support your analysis of the project. Use all the tools in the analytical process, including; quotes, citings, and views. Do not leave anything out, and make the analysis, sound and coherent. A consistent and coherent analysis has to always be presented in this type of paper, so do not skim on that, even though it is being done quickly.

Edit

Never turn any paper in without editing it! Do your first edit just before going to bed, then make any corrections that are needed. Set your alarm to get you up early enough, that you have time to edit it a second time. After you have slept, it will not be as fresh on your mind as when you just finished it. This will allow you to find any mistakes you missed the first time you edited it.
